Each HENRY card wallet is individually handcrafted in Western Australia by Henry and Wilde. We choose full-grain leather with its natural variations of colour to ensure each piece is unique and we hand stitch with waxed thread using the saddle stitch technique. This stitching method creates a stronger, longer lasting stitch than machine sewing and gives the seams their distinctive angles look alongside the leather edges which are carefully burnished for a smooth, refined finish.
We source our vegetable tanned leather from the Conceria Walpier tannery in Tuscany, Italy. Vegetable tanning is an eco-friendly, plant based process that creates an aniline finish which highlights the natural features of the hide rather than covering them.
With use each wallet will develop its own unique patina. Lighter colours will gradually darken with exposure to sunlight and the natural oils from your hands.
Our HENRY card wallet is designed to comfortably hold six cards across its three sleeves. Extra cards or folded notes may fit, but doing so will stretch the leather so if you carry fewer cards, they may sit more loosely.
Avoid immersing the wallet in water or cleaning it with a wet sponge. Additional treatment isn't required during its lifetime - the oils from your hands will keep the leather supple. If the wallet does end up in the washing machine ( it happens ), remove the contents and allow it to dry in the shade. The leather may look dull at first, but with continued use, its patina will return. A leather balm can help nourish if required.
