The Cooper is a handmade leather dog collar made in Western Australia — a clean, considered collar built from full grain Italian vegetable tanned leather and solid brass hardware. Just well-made leather and brass that will age together beautifully over time.

The leather is belt quality — dense, durable, and chosen specifically because it holds its shape and develops a rich patina with daily wear. The solid brass centre bar buckle, D ring, and rivets are not plated — they're solid brass, which means they'll mellow from bright to a warm antique tone the longer the collar is worn. Everything on the Cooper improves with age. Available in tan and dark brown. Full grain leather, solid brass hardware, no shortcuts. Built for daily use and made to last.

A few details worth noting. The leather is tapered at the buckle end to reduce bulk where the strap overlaps — it sits flatter and feels less chunky on the dog’s neck. The edges are hand finished and polished with beeswax, which seals them against moisture and gives a clean, considered look. Each adjustment hole is also sealed to minimise moisture intrusion and protect the leather from the inside out. These are the kinds of details that don’t show up in a product photo but make a difference over years of daily wear.

Size guide

Measure your dog’s neck loosely with a tape measure, then add 2–3cm for comfort. If your dog falls between sizes, size up. The Cooper has four adjustment holes spaced 2cm apart, so the fit is precise and there’s less strap end hanging free. It’s designed to be worn on the middle holes.

Care

Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. Apply a small amount of leather conditioner if the collar looks dry or has lost its suppleness. If the collar gets wet — or your dog takes it for a swim — remove it when you get home and allow it to dry naturally in the shade. Do not use heat. Apply a leather conditioner once completely dry. Do not immerse in water intentionally. Wipe the stainless steel hardware with a dry cloth to keep its clean finish.
